Is Hand Rejuvenation Right for Me?

Posted August 23, 2019 in Uncategorized

Over time, unwanted changes can begin to develop on our hands that may strike alarm for some people. Our hands produce some of the most noticeable indicators of our age due to the thinness of the skin, which causes it to be more vulnerable to environmental factors and the natural aging process. Hand rejuvenation can eliminate noticeable signs of aging to create smoother and more youthful-looking hands

What Can Cause My Hands to Get Damaged?

Collagen and minor fatty tissues in our hands are what gives them that plump and smooth appearance. While people may turn to makeup or cosmetic procedures to address facial imperfections, many leave their hands untreated.

There are several factors that affect the aging of the hands. One is sun damage, which causes spotting and discoloration. Sun damage can also cause wrinkles and loose skin to develop. Other factors include thinning of the skin, loss of collagen, and fat loss. These result in a “boney” look and more prominent veins.

Fortunately, these concerns can be treated using one of the following hand rejuvenation treatments:

How Does Each Treatment Work?

Fat Transfer

Hand rejuvenation with fat transfer uses fat from another area of the body to restore fullness and soften the back of the hands and make veins and bones less noticeable. Fat is typically removed from either the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs using liposuction. The cells are harvested and purified, then carefully injected into the back of the hands for even distribution.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels correct visible signs of aging by exfoliating the hands, which removes the damaged outer layer of skin. A chemical solution is applied to the surface of the hands to eliminate issues like brown spots, discoloration, and wrinkles and produce a healthy layer of skin

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are ideal for patients who prefer a non-invasive treatment and little to no downtime. Although fillers can make the hands look younger, they are temporary and you will need to repeat this treatment to maintain your results. As with fat transfer, veins and bones become less noticeable.

Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing improves the volume of tissue on the back of the hand while tightening and smoothing out the skin. The treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and dark spots.

Radio Frequency Microneedling

This treatment improves skin tightening and smoothes wrinkles. It usually requires two to four separate treatment sessions but there is no downtime.
