What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that restores natural, youthful look and lasts longer than the former leading filler. This convenient treatment fills and corrects smile lines, Nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Radiesse is made of unique calcium based micro spheres suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimumally invasive procedure.
What is the procedure like?
The patient is first prepared with a topical anesthetic cream (30 minutes). Optional anesthetics include nerve block, or intravenous sedation. The doctor then injects the Radiesse material into the chosen areas with a small needle and syringe. This will take 5-10 minutes.
What areas can be treated?
Dr. O’Neil uses Radiesse to improve cheeks, nasolabial folds, jowls and mouth commisures.
Recovery?
Results are immediate. Some mild swelling occurs for a few hours. Occasionally, longer. Bruising is possible. Make-up may be applied immediately.
How long does it last?
Radiesse lasts 9-15 months with partial permanency due to new natural tissue growth.
