What is Juvederm?

Juvederm injectable gel is a smooth gel filler that the doctor eases under the skin to instantly smooth out wrinkles or folds that look like parenthesis along the side of your nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), vertical lip lines and the oral commissures. Results aren’t just instant, they’re so smooth and natural, everyone will notice but no one will know!

What is the procedure like?

The patient is first prepared with a topical anesthetic cream (30 minutes). Optional anesthetics include nerve block, or intravenous sedation. The doctor then injects the Juvederm material into the chosen areas with a small needle and syringe. This will take 5-10 minutes.

What areas can be treated?

Dr. O’Neil uses only Juvederm Ultra Plus. He uses it in all areas, such as cheeks, nasolabial folds, jowls, under the eyes (orbital rim) and mouth commissures.

Recovery?

Results are immediate. Some mild swelling occurs for a few hours. Occasionally, longer. Bruising is possible. Make-up may be applied immediately.

How long does it last?

Juvederm Ultra Plus lasts 10-12 months with partial permanency due to new natural tissue growth. Note: Other, less expensive forms of Juvederm are available but do not last as long.
